High Threat Protective Operations; Phase I

(Course Length: 3 days)

 Overview: The review of assassinations and assassination attempts against numerous world leaders and VIP’s. Discuss why these assassinations took place, by whom, and methods of attack that could be used against a person you may be protecting. Protective Security Detail protective procedures will be presented. Development of the keys to success - flexibility, adaptability, resourcefulness and intelligence gathering – will be keys in this course.

 Training Topics 

  • Rules of Engagement (ROE)

  • Pistol/Carbine Review

  • Route selection/Attack Recognition

  • Attack on Principal Drills

  • Tactical Trauma Management

  • Foot Formations

  • Motorcade/Convoy Operations

  • CQB

  • Force on Force Drills

 Equipment: Students will need a suitable carbine (M-4 type) sling, magazine carrier, a minimum of four carbine magazines, a serviceable handgun, a minimum of three pistol magazines and carrier, appropriate holster and wrap-around eye protection, ear protection, cleaning kit and rain gear.

 Ammunition Requirements: 500 rounds of pistol ammunition, 750 rounds of carbine ammunition
